Our story

Keep players
playing.

“Every trophy in this sport ends up in a cabinet. The only one that keeps giving anything back is time on court.”

Our mission

One mission, three promises.

Longevity

That is the whole idea. We build portable stringing machines precise enough for the pros and tough enough to last for years, so the feel you trust travels with you, your body takes less punishment season after season, and the game stays open to anyone, anywhere.

Control

Give every player control over their game, the exact feel the pros demand, portable enough to travel anywhere, built to last for years.

Access

Talent is spread evenly around the world. Access to the sport is not. We build portable stringing technology that puts a trusted racquet in more hands, in more places, and keeps players playing longer.

How it started

A $17,000 problem, a stranger in Korea, and a machine that didn't exist yet.

Across 21 years as a professional, representing New Zealand in the Davis Cup a record 33 times, founder Rubin Statham lived with a failure hiding in plain sight inside every locker room. In their first year on tour, he and his twin brother Oliver spent over $17,000 on restringing alone, and still couldn't trust the racquet they walked onto court with.

Different machines in different cities. Different technicians, different techniques. Tension that read 52 lb on paper but played like 45. The uncertainty didn't just cost money. It cost confidence, and in professional tennis, confidence is everything.

So between matches, Rubin sketched a machine that didn't exist. He found the engineer to build it in the unlikeliest of places, a lone fan quietly following him between tournaments in Korea. Fourteen years, three Platinum generations and seven years of parallel R&D later, that idea became the CybeX: a stringing machine small enough for a carry on that outperforms the 65 kg (143 lb), $10,000 machines used at the Grand Slams.

What we believe

Three convictions behind the design of every machine.

The long game

Almost nobody leaves this sport because they stopped loving it. They leave because something hurt; their body or their wallet. Consistent tension spares the arm punishment season after season, and stringing your own racquets takes the weekly stringing bill, one of tennis's heaviest running costs, off the table. The player who keeps playing is the one who can still afford to.

“The trophies were never the prize. The longevity was.”

The feel you trust

A racquet's string bed is a tension delivery system. Our machines let a player save a preferred setup and reproduce it exactly, wherever they are, so stringing stops depending on who happens to be working that day.

“Peace of mind in the third set tiebreak.”

Access, everywhere, everyone

A machine that travels changes where stringing can happen, and who can get it. Under four kilograms (under 9 lb), battery powered, upgraded through software, it reaches a club championship, a junior clinic, or a court with no power at all.

“Talent is spread evenly around the world. Access to the sport is not.”

“We're not just sponsoring an event. We're buying somebody another season to find out how good they could have been.”

Giving back

Keeping the game moving.

If the technology is to be useful beyond established tennis centers, access has to mean more than getting a racquet into someone's hand.

Lock Tennis Foundation

With Davis Cup players and long time ambassadors Courtney and Benjamin Lock, we've put machines and strings into a program that has supported around 1,200 children, many meeting a properly strung racquet for the first time.

Waste becomes the next machine

Every restring leaves a tangle of cut string behind. We've set up collection points in Tunisia, South Africa and at Challenger events, working toward reprocessing that material into the bodies of the machines themselves.

More about giving back

The game is long.
We want you to play every minute of it.
