Calibration

Check your Platinum 3.0 calibration

Use a digital calibrator to check what your machine actually pulls, then set the tension sticker on the dial to match.

Setting up to check calibration

Platinum 3.0 has no calibration menu: you check its pull against a calibrator and set the dial sticker to match. For the dial itself, watch the Tension Adjustment & Reset Button guide above.

Need a calibrator? Pro Stringer Calibrator

Step by step

  1. Hook the calibrator onto the throat support of your mounting system before you mount the racquet. The Pro Stringer Calibrator attaches with its rope.
  2. Mount the racquet. Tie a piece of the string you normally use to the calibrator hook, long enough to pass through the head as if you were pulling the first main.
  3. Turn the calibrator on and zero it.
  4. Set the tension dial to about halfway, insert the string into the tension head and pull tension.
  5. When the machine reaches tension, count to three and read the calibrator. The reading keeps dropping after that because the string stretches; the machine is still holding its set tension.
  6. Set the tension sticker on the dial to the reading you took at three seconds, then pull once more to confirm.

ModuleX-2 or ModuleX-6: what’s the difference?

Choose the frame support that suits your setup. The mounting system is separate from the tensioning machine: select only a configuration offered for your product and sport.

  • ModuleX-2 · side pull
    ModuleX-2 · side pull
  • ModuleX-6 · 6 support points
    ModuleX-6 · 6 support points
  • ModuleX-6 · frame support

Start with the support you need. The modular system allows compatible cross bars and supports to be added later. Changing from X6 to X2 requires the correct head support. Contact the team to confirm conversion parts.

  • ModuleX-2

The lightest setup to travel with.

  • ModuleX-6

    Additional head and throat support.

ModuleX is compatible with CybeX and Platinum 3.0, not Platinum 1.0 or 2.0. For badminton and squash, ModuleX-6 is converted to a four-point configuration. Follow the guide for your racquet and use the required sport-specific clamps and adapters.
